The Farmer's Market lives!

It's baaaack!, with "it" being a Winter version of the highly successful Farmer's Market held from June to November in the Mill Road parking lot opposite Woodland Avenue.

With the energetic but low-key Elsie Collins again at the helm, this is being launched as a "pilot program," and is being held Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at a variety of locations in the downtown area.

Certain vendors... Nick the Pickle Man, Ed the Egg Man, Tara the Fish Lady, etc.... can be found at Sydney's (103 Main) while others... Steve's Salad Dressings and Soups, Papa Pasquale's Ravioli, Gourmet French Cuisine, Julie Jacobs/Gourmet Specialties, Cathy's Jams&Jellies, et al... are setting up "shop" down the alley at 99 Main in Shock Ice Cream.

(Erin and Elyse seemed to have signed a non-aggression pact for duration.)

Another vendor, Diane's Delicious Pumpkin Bread, will be across the street and up Glovers Lane at Pine Cone.

Critically conspicuous by their absence is Rovente, so my Espresso Dark Chocolate Extreme Biscotti withdrawal continues, though Elsie assures me that she's "working on it."

(Memo to Mrs. Collins: Hurry!)

Beside Steve Price, the other vendor my wife and I look forward to seeing is Carson's Farm Vegetables who'll also be within Sydney's.

Westhampton Beach, a Winter destination!

Sang Lee Farms will be here today as well. Thanks for the mention. Happy Hanukah.

And to you as well, Elyse... remember, you and Erin need to play nice.

Love the picture.

Makes ya wanna run right down and scoop up all of Carson's produce, doesn't it?!

Hey, I like how you use the names, Speir! Sounds like a cast of characters from "The Sopranos:" "Nick the Pickle," "Ed da Egg," etc.

I'm glad I'll have access to Steve (the Salad) dressings; I was just about to have my own withdrawal symptoms. Do we know if Sang Lee is going to be represented? I know they grow salad greens throughout the Winter.

"The names" are as they were presented in the release. And according to Elyse (above), Sang Lee will be represented.

NOT to despair, darlin'. I'll make some biscotti to tide you over this week until Rovente returns.

And that's a great big YES, DEAR!
