Anyone feel 'had?'

...or perhaps a little foolish?

Remember the flurry of pre-election activity by the First Hampton Lightning Party in the run-up to this June's Village election?

First it was Trustee Joan Levan and the Waldbaum's issue, and then the JPOE advertising in support of "Joan and Hank" (Tucker), and rattling sabers about the threat posed by the Orthodox Jews' desire for an eruv.

And now with the Village bracing for a storm and with the official end of Summer just a week away, anyone thought to check out the Empress of Oneck's Shame on Waldbaum's website?

Or JPOE's blogspot?

Well the first no longer exists, and the second hasn't been updated since March 16th.

Waldbaum's on Sunset Avenue continues to exist, but it's unknown whether the location will actually show any improvement over the long run.

By the way, aside from Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's visit in mis-July, has the Rabbi showed his face this Summer?

If you go to the synagogue website you'll see all that's going it. A lot actually.

Which is what one would expect this time of year with the Jewish Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah (September 19th-20th) and Yom Kippur (September 28th) just around the corner. (These are biggies, and the time, I am told, when the flock gets serious about tithing the Rabbi.)

Now this activity may cause the Quiogue nutberger to froth in anger, but it's an important period on the Jewish calendar.

JPOE is waiting for an available date at Starr's.

  1. For what?
  2. You know this how?
