Now it can be revealed...

...or part of it, at least, though I expect that it won't be much of a surprise to most.

JT's Place is relocating from Hampton Bays to 141 Montauk Highway, Westhampton Beach, once home to Papa Joe's and sundry other restaurant and retail liquor establishments1.

The plan has been in the offing in one form or another for some months now but has been held up while some legal issues had to be ironed out.

Builder Mark Jones, a principal in the business, confirmed some of the details on Friday.

"It makes sense to come here... most of our customers are from this area, anyhow. Plus this location has the larger kitchen which JT2 needs for catering."

Having received approvals from the Westhampton Beach Planning Board at Thursday's meeting, work crews were gutting the interior and landscaping the grounds, including repaving the parking lot.

"It's going to be fast and furious, but we intend to be open for dinner Memorial Day weekend."

...Jones told OtBB this week.

The arrival of an established restaurant of a known quality is a promising sign for both that stretch of Montauk Highway, and Westhampton Beach in general.
