It was pretty clear who had authored the story, if not the headline as well, when it showed up on my Google newsfeed for Westhampton Beach this morning:
Yup, the perennially disgrunted-with-the-Westhampton-Free-Library Sabina Trager, crusader for a democratically-elected Board of Trustees.
She's been rousing all manner of rabble on this matter ever since she was dismissed, by a subsequent determination of Senior Administrative Law Judge David H. Kim of the New York State Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board, as a Library staff member without proper cause.
(It was a stinging rebuke to the autocratic Dowager Empress of Oneck Joan Levan, then the Board President.)
Taxation without Representation
The thing is, Sabina's right... the WFL Board is a taxing entity, and those taxed have no common redress!
Problem is, she's utterly failed to make her case with anyone other than giddly young males and foolish older ones.
As I've noted previously, tea was tossed wholesale into the harbor over just such an issue.
