Variety is just now exploring...

...where Jennifer Lawrence sprang from!

A Look Back at Jennifer Lawrence's
Bizarre Pre-'Hunger Games' Career

'Bullshit!' burgee

"Jennifer Lawrence's career can be divided into two distinct parts: before and after Katniss Everdeen."

Here's where I have to throw the B.S. flag!

For openers, there was nothing "bizarre" about her career either before or after she landed the lead role in the popular "The Hunger Games" franchise.

And if the author, one Tim Gray who bears the title of "Awards Editor," didn't know that, then he's not worthy of such a job description!

I don't care what she did as a three season regular on "The Bill Engvall Show," everybody's gotta start somewhere... hell, James Dean honed his acting chops in almost three dozen television shows before bursting into national prominence as one of the leads in 1955's "East of Eden."

Jennifer Lawrence's breakthrough occurred 26 months before her first appearance as "Katniss Everdeen" with the independent film, "Winter's Bone," and despite its modest budget and six week filming schedule in Missouri's Ozark Mountains, garnered numerous awards and four Academy Award nominations including Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.

(That Lawrence was completely jobbed by Academy voters was a major source of contention here.

She won her Best Acrtess Oscar the next year for "Silver Linings Playbook.")

So Tim Gray is all wet, and if I had a subscription to Variety, I'd have to cancel it!
