You want gender equality?

I got your gender equality right here!

Brittney Griner suspended from start of USA Basketball camp

"Brittney Griner will be missing the start of USA Basketball's European training camp this week after she was suspended by the organization."
Brittney Griner
"The penalty stems from Griner's domestic violence arrest...."

The true test of the progress of gender equality, however, will be when a non-lesbian female of less Amazonian proportions than Griner's 6'8", 199 lbs. is similiarly sanctioned.

It is appropriate for men and women to be treated the same when meting out justice to domestic violence cases, be it as witnessed with a basketball star, or the Georgia Penal System.

It is also appropriate justice to reward and pay women equal pay for equal work.

Funny. That doesn't seem to have made it through the courts yet.

  1. My point exactly, but it is rarely seen... but when females are involved, (cf: Hope Solo, Griner), they seem to be professioal athletes.
  2. States have been executing women since Mary Elizabeth Jenkins Surratt 150 years ago. See also Ruth Snyder, Ethel Rosenberg (actually honored by the New York City Council several days ago!), Bonnie Heady, Aileen Wuornos and Karla Faye Tucker, some of the more notable ones.
  3. I've never suggested otherwise, and I think that's now the law of the land.
  4. Really? Fooled me!
