The Village is again a better place...

The Village is again a better place... that The Post Stop Cafe has opened its door for "the Season."

From the crowd that was thoroughly ensconsed when we arrived at 7:30 last evening, there were clearly a great many people who've been chomping at the bit for Sandy Patterson's excellent cuisine.

While it was just a tad chilly for al fresco dining on the front porch, and all the inside tables wait-listed, the bar... genial Rob Sheldon on the stick... reminded me of the Horn & Hardart's of yore with customers standing patiently behind the seats they wished to "inherit."

We finally grabbed a bar stool after a number of diners dashed off the make the 8:00 pm curtain at Performing Arts Center, and had our usual fare, a Cranberry-Gorgonzola Turkeyburger for Jeanne and a Pepperjack Cheeseburger for m'self.

Then old friend Randy King came in and we easily ignored the exciting Stanley Cup play-off game on Sandy's w-i-d-e screen TV, talking about people we knew and places we liked.

That's what we miss about Main Street... a place like Magic's Pub.

For now, Post Stop will do... admirably.

Ahhhh. There's no more comforting company and cuisine than at the Post Stop. Welcome back. We missed you all.
