This is one 'Guilty' Plea...

...I'm following with considerable interest:

‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ stars Teresa and Joe Giudice plead guilty to fraud charges

The bet here is that both husband and wife do the minimum... she skates with probation, and he goes for no more than three years.

Teresa Giudice

I am by no means a fan of the show, "Real Housewives of New Jersey," which brought the Giudices to public attention... I abhor that type of low cost, time-filler faux "reality" programming.

(Anyone else ever notice that Teresa Giudice's face looks like it was drawn by Garry Trudeau?)

Teresa and Joe Giudice

As for Joe Giudice, he has brought the greatest amount of disrepute to Italian-Americans since John Gotti and Joey Buttafuoco... except that he's strictly Italian, and could be subjected to deportation upon completion of his incarceration.

What the hell happened to once reasonably "high-brow" cable Bravo, launched in 1980 as "the first television service dedicated to film and the performing arts."

(A good argument can cite the service's acquisition by NBC in 2002 as the point when it all went to crap.)

For my part, I have seen all I want or need to see of "Reality TV," whether it's one of the (too) many "Real Housewifes" series, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," "Jersey Shore" or "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

(In truth, a cumulative three hours might be the sum total of my tolerance for these shows... and that includes an entire 60 minutes of "Duck Dynasty.")

The High Power forbid that any of the fans of "Reality TV" ever get a real dose of reality!

In light of this week's dénouement to the Giudices' legal problems, will Teresa stand by her statement to Bravo's Executive Vice President of Development and Talent Andy Cohen?

"I don't regret anything I do. I stand by it. If I do something, I stand by it."

Will she feel the same way when it comes to allocution before sentence is passed?
