Oyez Oyez Oyez…

Oyez et terminez... after six plus years and one false start at the end of October, the deed is done!

Jeanne and I are now formally Mr. and Mrs., with Southampton Town Clerk Sundy Schermeyer officiating in our living room, her grandfather "Ham" Andon standing with me, and my greatly-relieved sister attending the bride who wore a corsage of peach roses. For his part the groom wore a sappy smile and a Robert Hall sports jacket with suede accents at the elbows.

Mr. and Mrs. Speir

Afterward, we hauled out a carefully horded bottle of Piper-Heidsieck Brut from Summer 2004 and enjoyed a modest wedding cake prepared earlier in the day by the new Mrs. Speir.

The bubbly couple subsequently repaired to the New Moon Café where it all started, for a light supper with Shana and Ron before returning home.

Damn… I wanted to be the flower girl! I could not be happier for the two of you. Giant hugs and kisses. I guess you love her best now! She deserves it!
