2013 Organizational Meeting

The annual meeting of the Westhampton Beach Village Board for the purposes of appointments and designation was held in record time this evening... 16 minutes... and would have been shorter had not an audience member posed two questions.

There was only one (mild) surprise, that of the naming of second year Trustee Ralph Urban as Deputy Mayor, supplanting re-elected Trustee Hank Tucker in that position.

(Curiously, the foregoing was not an agenda item, a departure from past organizational meetings.)

Clerk of the Village Elizabeth Lindtvit, pursuant to a New York State Law enacted May 15, 2013, became the official designated Recipient of Service by the Secretary of State (Cesar A. Perales, not John Kerry) anytime the municipality is being sued.

Re-appointed Anthony Rattoballi as Special District Attorney at a rate of $150/hour, an increase of 15.4% for those of you keeping score at home.

Re-appointed the Honorable Francis Fineo as Associate Justice of the Village Court at a salary of $3250.

Re-appointed Jeannine Conte as Deputy Clerk-Treasurer.

Designated The Southampton Press Western Edition, The New York Times and Newsday as the Official Newspapers of the Village.

Approved expenditures of $10,044 and $13,156 for, respectively, for new computer servers for the Police Department and the municipality.

Re-appointed existing chairs of the Architectural Review, Planning and Zoning Boards, as well of current members of each whose terms were expired.

Then everyone went home to swelter in the muggy air or relax in air conditioned comfort as the case might be.
