Ooooooooooh, nooooooooo!

...or, possibly, a Bess Mess Part Two!

Lindsay Lohan Rehab Facility Surrounded by Temptation

I saw the original item on TMZ courtesy of Google Alerts several hours ago but passed it up because it was TMZ, #1, and, #2, some of their report didn't jibe with Seafield Center's charter and procedures, to wit:

  1. "90 days of rehab?" Last I looked, Seafield has a 28 day program.
  2. "It has 24-hour staff guarding the doors, as well as surveillance cameras and walls." What "walls?" It's got a privacy hedge, parts of which incorporate a low chain-link fence.

Add to that, my neighbors and I know first hand that Dr. Keller's old hospital isn't exactly a secure facility, and we have concerns.

Then there's the paparazzi factor... during the cited Bess Meyerson/Andy Capasso scandal in 1987, they, along with a WNBC Channel 4 transmission truck, descended on Exchange Point like big green flies on road apples.

The people, for the most part, weren't so bad... they were personable and professional, and sat around swapping "stake-out stories" with one another while the photographers sprawled on their bellies with telephoto lenses poking through the bottom of the Capasso property's hedge.

Compare that with what we have today... guys in blue jeans, black rock 'n' roll tee shirts and turned-around baseball caps with cell' 'phone cameras, and the paparazzi of yore suddenly seem like respectable journalists!

I wish that not for my Village, and can but hope that this... promulgated locally by "Patch" an hour ago... will, like 90% of the "news" related to the Lohan family, prove untrue!

Dean,

Maybe you can rent out part of the house to reporters, pick up a little cash!

Read more carefully, HW... whoever arrives won't be "reporters."

During the Bess Mess, I did put up my old Hampton Chronicle-News colleage Jim Nolan for a night... all it cost him was a steak dinner at The Patio, expensed by his new employers at New York Post.

The others from the Post and The Daily News were envious as hell, 'cause they had to stay at Baily's Motel.
