Okay, so it's not officially 'Over'

The Suffolk Country Board of Elections cannot certify the results of the General Election in Southampton Town as "official" 'til the last of the Absentee Ballots, in the house later today, are tabulated.

But "unofficially," it's over and we know who won the top spot and will assume the seat of Supervisor on the Town Board come January: current Councilwoman Linda Kabot.

The problem is that supporters of the other two major candidates, Democrat Jim Henry and doubly-defeated Republican-incumbent-who-had-to-run-on-the-Conservative-line, Patrick "Skip" Heaney, aren't taking their losses at all well... especially the bitter partisans in the Heaney camp! To a one they feel that Mrs. Kabot is as toxic as Tanya Metaksa and as dangerous as one of the Chechen widows. They are apparently unwilling to even allow her the traditional post-Election "honeymoon" to see how she handles herself as the leader of Southampton Town.

It's going to be a bumpy shakedown cruise of the new administration.

Thank goodness there's no Electoral College at THIS level. BTW, when are Heaney's Henchman going to take down his annoying and pervasive signs?
