All rolled into one

It was grand... closing night at The Post Stop Cafe, a young fellow's 17th birthday party, and a (pre) hurricane party.

(In another time, 35-40 years ago, the last part would have been held at Magic's Pub, and there wouldn't have been any "pre" about it... it would have lasted for several days.)

All this, mind you, well before Governor Cuomo and President Obama held hands to declare all of New York is in a State of Emergency.

It could have been Force 8 on the Beaufort scale and it wouldn't have stopped Jeanne from venturing forth for one last Cranberry Turkeyburger... if Sandy1 Patterson planned on staying open.

Game gal that she is, she was, but planned on shutting down at 7:30 pm.

Aside from the party of six celebrating the young fellow's birthday and some miscellaneous staff, we had the place to outselves to enjoy a terrific Sunday evening supper.

Post Stop Cafe... now closed for the Winter
A last look at Post Stop Cafe 'til sometime after the Spring thaw

If we miss you handing out candy to the kiddies at the Halloween Parade, Sandy, we'll see you in the Spring!

Less than 100 yards away, the location formerly known as "Magic's" was dark.

  1. By the end of the week the lady will have heard enough wisecracks that she's going to insist on being called Sandra.

I do love and miss the Post Stop. Don't envy the weather you are having. Storms can be exciting but the aftermath lasts I do love and miss The Post Stop. Don't envy the weather you are having. Storms can be exciting but the aftermath lasts too long. Greetings from The Florida Keys!

Rather dull here other than alll the gawkers... Chez Speir has for three days been the #1 amateur phototographers' destination in the area! We're still off-line and out of com and juice. Right now I'm in the Riverhead Library. Spectacular images coming soon(?)
