I think I'll pass!

(Names redacted to protect the naïve.)

This was retrieved from the OtBB Comments queue this afternoon:

"Hi Dean,

We were talking in the office and we want to invite you to come into the Rotary Dunk Tank for a half hour this weekend!!!

Xxxx will be in for 30 minutes Saturday morning and I will be filling in during the "down times."

The person who raises the most money during their time in the tank will have a $250.00 donation made to the charity of their choice by Rotary.

If you won't join us in this wet adventure, would you consider posting up an invite for your readers to come down and throw?

I didn't know how else to get a message to you.smiley

Thanks for even considering it. – Xxxx"

Right! I'll be sure to do that for all my many friends in Rotary!

Ennnt! This is what is known as a "non-starter!"

In truth, I actually did this once at the request of the late Charlie Johnson, a pal since he was at Suffolk County Federal Savings & Loan.

I got wet a lot, but I was a lot younger then... and there there are other factors at play as well, which I'll reserve!

So, thanks for thinking of me, but I decline, with prejudice.

But this should serve as the requested "post up." I trust your Flea Market will be successful.

Thanks for the mention!

We've got 125 vendors signed up and lots of hope that the weather holds out. It's a big fundraiser for our club and allows us to continue our charitable endeavours in the community.

A little friendly competition with the dunk tank will certainly be fun.smiley

Wonder if Gus is doing it? Seems like the combo of attorney and government official would be a great draw.
