O, Matthew... really?

From the print version of this week's Southampton Press Western Edition, page A4, "Library Budget Vote," director of Westhampton Free Library Matthew Bollerman, explaining the proposed 4.6% increase in spending:

"We always have demands for more and more stuff and we are trying to keep up."

C'mon, Matt... you're a guy... I'm a guy... we understand about "stuff."

But for the $100k+ a year the district pays you, you've got to do better than "more and more stuff."

I mean, what's it actually say in the proposed budget?

Indeed. In newsprint for all of us to see. I saw red. "Stuff?!" And "demands?!"

Unlike you two fellas, I'm not a guy. I've run a household budget for decades. I have to know where "stuff" comes from and where it goes.

We still don't know what "stuff" they spent our money on from previous budgets, nor who they gave it to. The accountings have been full of rat chewed holes for the last several years.

This year, please vote "No" to the Library Budget! It's simply good money after bad....
This Trump-sized legacy structure has never been about "the children."

Maybe the reporter ambushed Mr. Bollerman and he didn't have a chance to trot out his "A Game."

Maybe Mr. Bollerman didn't have a chance to call Joan.

While Matt Bollerman certainly knows on which side his bread is buttered, he's not one of Mrs. Levan's coterie of sycophants or a puppy dog like her fellow Trustee on the two boards.

He's a bright guy whose decision-making process and attention to necessary details has been a bit shaky of late.

OtBB should have been all over this much earlier, but the information is fairly dense and difficult to extract, much less present in a coherent manner.
