Guldi goes for 4-12 years

After last Friday's postponed sentencing date, Acting Supreme Court Justice Judge James F.X. Doyle dropped a four-to-12 year noose around former Suffolk County Legislator George Guldi's bulging neck at noon today.

The local lad-gone-bad was convicted in February of two felony counts of Grand Larceny and Insurance Fraud following a five-week trial, and received a three-to-nine year sentence on the first count.

A second sentence was imposed as well, one to three years on the lesser of the two charges, which will be served consecutively.

He could have received a prison sentence of up to 15 years on the Grand Larceny conviction alone.

Guldi still has another trial upcoming this Spring involving mortgage fraud.

Thanks for this posting about the Guldi sentencing. The Falconer over here was surfing the news channels trying to find out the scoop to no avail. You are always the first and best place to look. Thanks again.
