A glimmer of hope...

...for downtown Westhampton Beach surfaced this week as Dee Perfido and Lenny Angelo revealed that they to plan reopen the shuttered Magic's Pub at 113 Main Street.

(This really should be entitled "Stop the presses! Re-plate the front page!")

Presently operators of "Dee Angelo's Pleasant Ave. Cafe" at 149 Main Street as well as The Restaurant at the Inn (at Quogue), the couple also ran the premises now known as MiCole's, so they won't be "noobs" in the retail liquor or restaurant game.

"We've got to do it for all of Main Street!"

...Lenny told OtBB in an exclusive interview.

(In reality, we wuz jus' talkin' during a chance meeting at Village Hall.)

Whatever their motives... altruistic or otherwise... all power to their efforts to reopen Magic's which has been dark since November.

Good to hear. Westhampton Beach just isn't the same without it.

Speaking of Magic's, I hear Chris Hurley is in Stony Brook Hospital with some heart issues. I hope he recovers quickly.

Well, that's what happens when you go to work for Mark Jones!

Best wishes to Chris!

Chris evidently is home and I saw the front windows of Magic's papered over and a work truck outside this morning. Something is happening.

And you don't know what it is, do you, Mis-ter Linesider?
