Local kids making good

Tomorrow's New York Times features Jason and Theresa Belkin in a profile of Long Island food entrepreneurs, "Turning a Passion Into Big Business."

The couple and business partners who live on Rogers Avenue, own Hampton Coffee Company with locations in Water Mill and at Six Corners in the Village.

Good to see something positive and affirming about "The Hamptons" coming out of a Noo Yawk newspaper.

Well deserved praise -- they run a great coffee shop.

They have great expresso there.

The goodies they sell to go with the great coffee are out of this world too. Yum!

Jason and Theresa are genuinely nice people (and brand new parents). They are active in the community, generous with both their time and resources. This recognition is well deserved.

Weren't there Belkins on Arnold Avenue years ago in our old "hood?" Same family?

Don't remember, don't know.

Thanks so much Dean and everyone for such nice comments. Theresa and I really appreciate all of your support. We can't believe we've been open on the Six Corners for more than five years now. Anyone who knows us knows how proud we are to be members and contributors to the Westhampton Beach community. We know how lucky we are to live here. And now we have our new son who will grow up in such a nice community. Thanks again for all of your support. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for such loyal friends and customers.

P.S.: Your column about John's cheesesteaks at the nightime Bun 'N Burger made me so hungry. We are hoping to be able to head over there on an upcoming Tuesday to have one ourselves.

And good for you and Theresa for growing and showing others that one can be successful in the Village without opening a real estate office.

And don't miss Johnny Romo's interpretation of that Philadelphia classic!
