One of the physical laws of the universe articulated by Sir Isaac Newton: "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

I prefer to simplify it down to: "There is a consequence to one's every action."

Take for instance, the closing of Kara's Sports Pub at the end of October.

For one thing it leaves a gaping hole between Bun'n'Burger and Dean's Country Market in the strip of stores on Mill Road:

Kara's Sports Pub... four weeks later

And then there's the consequence few could have foreseen... the parking lot outside the demised premises, shaping-up for the Happy Hours that never happen:

Happy Hour patrons... with no place to serve them

"It's awful!" said one of the proprietors of an adjoining business who asked to not be identified. "They stand there, vacant-eyed and slack-jawed... they've got no place to go."

Business owners in the area are planning to appear at the December Village Board meeting to request as yet unspecified actions be taken by the Trustees and the Mayor.

On the common theme of watering holes, heard a rumor that Magic's was denied a liquor liscense{sic}???

Well, Magic's has a retail liquor license, #1, and, #2, are you saying that it was yanked, or not renewed? Jeez, Louise! This could be a "dry" Village at this rate!
