And in my lifetime, yet!

I had begun to doubt if such an event would ever come to pass, but it has!

The marquee lights of the Hampton Arts Cinemas I&II are once again lit.

Alerted late this afternoon by an anonymous friend of OtBB, I was able to grab this photo around 3:40 pm:

The new marquee being installed just before 4:00 pm this afternoon.

Yeah, doesn't look like much, but what an improvement over what we had in late August or mid-September.

(We actually began clocking this project at the three month mark back in early August right after resident Ralph Folz had formally called the Village Board's attention to the deplorable appearances of some of the buildings in the Village.)

Later, after dark, I took a run up to Six Corners to see how far the workmen had progressed, and was greeted with...

Less than three hours, voila!

Wow! Welcome back!

And what a glorious difference it makes to the entirety of Six Corners... just the "spill" onto the paving and planting of the egg-about!

As I was preparing this, another friend of OtBB, Johnny Romo, called on his (hands-free) cell' 'phone to express his own enthusiastic impressions of the new marquee and how much it enhanced that intersection.

And that's something the Village really needs!

...and now the marquee has listed the movies that are playing and they are "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and also "Morning Glory."

Yes, the marquee has been "dressed."
