From Newsday's obituary of Bob Morgan:

"Morgan is survived by brothers Ronald Morgan, of Coos Bay, Ore.; Russell Morgan of New Jersey; and another Robert Morgan, also of Westhampton Beach."

An inquiry from an OtBB regular followed:

"Reading Newsday's obit on Friday, can you interpret how Bob had a brother named Robert Morgan?"

That would be news... but then it's Newsday, and they routinely screw up anything East of Brookhaven.

But I was immediately reminded of the running gag on "Newhart" (1982-1990):

"Hi, I'm Larry, this is my brother Darryl, and this is my other brother Darryl."

Bob's only blood-relative I knew of was his mother, but anything is possible.

Editorial Choices...

Of interest if how Newsday captioned his obit:

Robert Morgan, 75, owner of White Cap Bar, dies

Not "former Mayor?" I think that would be considered his life's greater accomplishment.

To me, Bob Morgan was proprietor of the White Cap Rest (not "bar!") while Robert W. Morgan Jr. was a Mayor of Westhampton Beach.

But as noted, Newsday never gets anything out here right!

...and George Forman named all his kids George?

Yup: George Jr., George III, George IV, George V and George VI.
