Surprise... Not!

The Southampton Democratic Party formalized the selection of Councilwoman Anna Throne-Holst as its choice to oppose GOP nominee Jim Malone for Town Supervisor this Fall.

Few outside of old guard Republicans, however, expect Mr. Malone to still be atop Row B by the first Tuesday in November. More...

Not to worry...

...this afternoon's OtBB outage was an Internet server issue and not "enemy action."

Conrad takes the gloves off

From the Letters page today's Southampton Press Western Edition:

"Although I am well aware that Waldbaum's had to deal with orchestrated grandstanding by two village trustees who are seeking reelection, I want company officials to know that it is still the goal of this village to encourage them to build either a new or updated building in the future."

It would appear that the honeymoon between the Empress of Oneck and the Mayor is over.

May Trustees Work Session

Nothing of moment occurred... no eruv, no Waldbaum's, and certainly no politics... it was wonderful!

Well, perhaps one thing of note: Dune Road's Jacqueline Sprotte showed up sporting a big red, white and blue "Levan/Tucker" button, suggesting that this is the way the second homeowner vote is headed.

An "Executive Session" was held afterwards.

The Galloping Gourmand

This from a reader:

Damned Lies

Updated 05/26/2009 – 01:45 am

"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics1."

What we have now is something between the first two, and that would be "Selective Truth," and when it's used the way the back-fencers2 do, it's really just another damned lie. More...

Town GOP dumps Madame Supe
