Just like that, our (relatively) new 11978 Post Mistress, Jean Fuentes, is gone.

Not struck down by a U.S.P.S. employee "going postal," but, as Jean Shepherd used to cry late at night over WOR-AM, "Excelsior!" More...

April Work Session

The dreaded Eye-Con

April 16th arrived, and the eruv chatzerot has been revisited.

The Westhampton Beach Village Board's discussion of the Hampton Synagogue's proposed eruv took up a significant portion of the April work session this evening, even though the attendance was far from "packed." More...

Tuesday's Aren't All THAT Special!

Updated 5/07/2008 - 1:25 pm

One of the better promotional deals around this time of year can be found Tuesdays at Firehouse Pizza, truly the class of the area pizza purveyors. Proprietor Michael Araujo sucks it up and offers a large cheese (read: "plain") pie for $10.

And, as they say in the old neighborhood, "Such a deal!" More...

Le Honeymoon, Part Deux...

Today we settled in... usually this is pretty much an instantaneous thing with me when I hit a West Indian island. I just wriggle my toes in the surf, wrap myself around a bottle of Mount Gay Eclipse, and I'm right there for the duration. More...

Eruv Update

It took him a while to get to it, but my old friend Shep Scheinberg has been heard from on the issue of the Hamptons Synagogue's proposed establishment of an "eruv chatzerot" to cover the Eastern portion of Westhampton Beach, which subject was addressed here in February.

This could get interesting... although let us hope that it doesn't carry to the extent of a religious war.
